Do you ever just groan with the feeling of boredom? Like you wish something, anything at all, would happen? Like you wish you could go on an adventure?
What do you do when you're bored? Probably just take out your phone and start scrolling aimlessly through social media feeds like most of us do. Anything to appease that feeling of boredom.
Well, it turns out it's worth letting ourselves feel bored sometimes. In fact, it can actually be good for us, and in a lot of ways it's necessary for us to be bored sometimes.
Despite the fact we may feel like we are doing nothing, our brain is always doing something, it's constantly on the go. So, when we're bored, our brain starts trying to come up with something to say or do. We may daydream when we're bored, and this is when we really get creative. When our minds wander, we start coming up with interesting ideas we've never thought of before, or solutions to problems we didn't know our subconscious was working on.
As well as being bored, resting is incredibly important. Our bodies need to recover from physical, emotional, and mental stress. Having a rest allows our bodies and minds to rebuild.
In this article, we'll take a look at what boredom is and why we experience it. We will then go into the benefits of boredom and the importance of rest. We will also look at some of the ways you can get creative when you're bored.
