What a business degree can't teach...

Hey, Blake here...

And despite producing some business giants...

Like the founder of Nike and the owner of the Boston Celtics...

The Stanford MBA program needs some work.

So, I spent a few minutes redesigning the program...

And I'll tell you why in just a second.

But before I do...

Take a look at the first-quarter courses in the Stanford MBA program:

Autumn Quarter: Core Courses

  • Ethics in Management
  • Finance I
  • Financial Accounting
  • Leadership Labs
  • Managerial Skills
  • Managing Groups and Teams
  • Optimization and Simulation Modeling
  • Organizational Behavior

Now, I'm all for being ethical...

Knowing your financials...

And organizing behavior...

(even though I'm not sure what that means)

But NOT everyone needs to know all of that stuff...

In fact...

I hire an accountant for my business so that I don't NEED to know accounting!

There's 4 core courses that I think should take a HUGE priority for anyone who's looking to grow a successful business.

You likely won't find these in a textbook...

And most "business" professors never learned these topics themselves...

Which is why I can't fault Stanford.

But after personally selling over $15 million online...

I've identified a few "blind spots" in Stanford's MBA curriculum.

Course #1: Problem-Solving 301

Sounds elementary...

But if you think about it...

Business is a game of solving problems for other people.

If you don't solve a problem, you don't get paid.

It's that simple.

Course #2: Product Validation 202

First of all...

What in the heck is "Optimization and Simulation Modeling"...?!

And why am I simulating things when I go test it in front of real people?

Success favors speed...

Which is why it's important to validate ideas before you go "all in" on 'em.

Course #3: Market Research 415

Arguably the most "boring" part of business is the research.

It ain't sexy...

You won't get a pat on the back for it...

BUT, it does lead to healthy profits.

Great market research leads to marketing that's dialed in...

And it's marketing that moves the needle.

Course #4: Relationship Building 550

I realize I'm making up course numbers by now...

But I can't stress the importance of building relationships enough.

There's been countless times where a single relationship has helped me overcome a big obstacle I've been faced with.

A simple text... tweet... or call... can sometimes be the difference between success and failure in business.

"Ok... but why do you bring all of this up Blake?"

Great question.

I wanna help you focus on what matters in business.

Things like talking to your audience...

Figuring what problems they have...

And what solutions they'll pay for.

That's where the true "magic" happens in business.

If you enjoyed this email...

You'll love this group even more.

It's a private community I run to help business owners grow their business online.

Hope to see you in there...

And be on the lookout for another email tomorrow.

Go crush it,

Blake "Sorry Stanford" Nubar
