News alert: House passes bill to remove Confederate statues from US Capitol as well as a bust of a former Supreme Court chief justice
|
The bill, which now heads to the Senate, would affect some statues chosen by states to be displayed in the Capitol's National Statuary Hall. The bill also specifically calls for the removal of a bust of former Supreme Court Chief Justice Roger Taney, who wrote the Dred Scott decision in 1857. |
