As January comes to a close, I couldn't help but wonder: Will we get a break in February?

Probably not. Next month kicks off former President Donald Trump's Senate impeachment trial.

It's Mabinty, with the day's top political news.

But first: If you want to know where the revolution is happening: then look at Wall Street. It's Robinhood vs. hedge funds over there.

Who run the world? Women.

Seven congresswomen will likely become the face of President Joe Biden's immigration legislation that includes an eight-year pathway to citizenship for nearly 11 million immigrants living in the United States without legal status.

The group, who call themselves the 'Closers,' includes:

Rep. Linda Sánchez, D-Calif.,
Rep. Zoe Lofgren, D-Calif.,
Rep. Lucille Roybal-Allard, D-Calif.,
Rep. Nydia Velázquez, D-N.Y.,
Rep. Judy Chu, D-Calif.,
Rep. Yvette Clarke, D-Calif.,
Rep.Karen Bass, D-Calif.,

The congresswoman will continue to work closely with the White House to pass the first comprehensive immigration reform legislation in more than 30 years.

Sánchez, chair of the Congressional Hispanic Caucus' Immigration Task Force, said she chose this group of congresswomen for the group because of their past work on immigration, in addition to several of the congresswomen serving districts that have large migrant communities. The group has representatives from the Congressional Hispanic Caucus, Congressional Black Caucus and the Congressional Asian Pacific American Caucus.

However, passing immigration reform will be a challenge.

But what are the men up to?

Rep. Jim Jordan, a conservative lawmaker and favorite among President Donald Trump's supporters, won't run for Ohio's open U.S. Senate seat in 2022.

Trump pledged Thursday to work with House Republican leader Kevin McCarthy on 2022 congressional elections – and also seemed to leave the door open to endorsing primary challengers to GOP incumbents who have opposed him on impeachment and other matters.

Biden will announce his task force focused on reunifying families separated at the U.S.-Mexico border on Tuesday.

Biden will also travel to Walter Reed National Military Medical Center on Friday afternoon to visit with wounded service members, the White House said.

It's Friday. Treat yourself! — Mabinty
