Trump calls Christine Blasey Ford's testimony 'compelling,' leaves door open for FBI investigation of Kavanaugh

  President Donald Trump told reporters he wants Republican Senate leaders to do "whatever they think is necessary" to get to a decision on Brett Kavanaugh's nomination to the Supreme Court. Trump also said he found Christine Blasey Ford's testimony – in which she accused Kavanaugh of sexual assault – "compelling," even as he stood by his nominee. Trump, whose approval would be needed for any FBI investigation of Kavanaugh, said he would leave the decision to senators to make.
