Tesla, CEO Elon Musk reach settlement with SEC over securities fraud charges, will pay $40 million penalty and have Musk resign as chairman

  The SEC announced the settlement with Musk and Tesla Saturday. The charge against Musk, initially filed Thursday, came after the Telsa CEO tweeted in August about taking the company private, saying that funding for the deal was "secured."
