Rep. Adam Schiff, the top Democrat on the committee, said Republicans voted to release a controversial memo alleging the FBI and the Department of Justice abused their surveillance authority to target then-presidential candidate Donald Trump and his associates. Republicans, according to Schiff, voted against letting Democrats release their own memo - and blasted the majority for pushing through a document he said contains a "frankly inaccurate recitation of the underlying facts." Justice and FBI officials have objected to the memo's release and have warned the committee that release of the material would be "reckless."
