Good morning. Here's what's happening now:

  • The Bureau of Meteorology has lifted its severe weather warning for South Australia but that's not the end of the trouble facing residents. There are several flood warnings around the state and strong winds have brought down power lines and trees. Our live blog has the latest

  • A packed commuter train has crashed into a station in New Jersey, killing one person and injuring more than 100. Photos show serious damage to the station building, with part of the roof apparently caving in

  • Foreign Minister Julie Bishop has hit out at her former colleague Wyatt Roy for travelling to Iraq, after the former MP was caught up in a clash between Islamic State and Kurdish Peshmerga forces. Ms Bishop said he acted "in defiance of Government advice" and "did not seek or receive assistance" from the Government before travelling

Street lights were turned off in Iceland's capital Reykjavik on Wednesday to give residents a better view of the Aurora Borealis. See the pictures

  • 7:10am AEST: State Emergency Service spokesman Terry Dwyer will provide an update on the South Australian storms. The press conference will be broadcast live on ABC News 24

  • 10:00am AEST: NSW Police will hold a public memorial to mark one year since police accountant Curtis Cheng was shot dead. The police headquarters will be re-named in his honour

  • 12:00pm AEST: The AFL Grand Final parade begins in Melbourne. Victorians have been given a public holiday for the event

  • 2:30pm AEST: Former NT Government staffer Paul Mossman is due to face the Supreme Court on three counts of corruptly receiving a benefit
