We were overdue for the latest insane plot twist, but here it is: Donald Trump will go to Mexico today. For several hours, anti-Trump folks are going to be asking a lot of questions about the wall, including how quickly can it be built, how high can we make it and what's the maximum altitude for Trump's private plane. Stateside, we'll be watching for the possible release of 15,000 more Hillary Clinton private server emails. And just a quick reminder: 70 days from today, the country will wake up with a new president-elect.

'So just mail the check to 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue ...'

Donald Trump is heading to Mexico -- the homeland of actual Mexican judges -- to meet with Mexican President Enrique Pena Nieto today. Trump's meeting is at the invitation of Pena Nieto, who tweeted that he's planning to meet with other candidates as well.

Few of the details were made public as of Tuesday night, including timing, location and topics of conversation ... so really, NONE of the details were made public. Pena Nieto's tweet says the meeting will take place in Mexico, which narrows the location down to 760,000 square miles. And Trump is scheduled to be on stage at 6 p.m. in Phoenix  for a major immigration speech, so the meeting will be early in the day. As for topics of conversation, we can make a few educated guesses, i.e. who's paying for the wall, whether or not Trump plans to deport Mexicans in the U.S. illegally, and how come all these so-called "authentic" restaurants down here act like they've never even heard of  taco bowls.

The hits just keep on coming

We're just days away from the release date of the Hillary Clinton Investigation Compilation, which is rumored to include Clinton's interview with federal agents and a previously unreleased cover version of Usher's "DJ Got Us Fallin' in Love," featuring Pitbull. The FBI generally doesn't release files on investigations, but it's taking the extra step in the politically charged case after critics noted the social relationship between  Attorney General Loretta Lynch and the Clintons and said it may have had an undue influence on the lack of charges brought against Hillary.

Team Clinton is upbeat about the whole thing, giving Hillaryphiles a reason not to dread any new scandals out of the new documents. Speaking on CNN, Kristina Schake, Clinton's deputy communications director, said that the campaign is "very pleased.''

"This is something we wanted to happen,'' Schake said. The complete release of emails has been something Clinton has called for almost since the investigation began.

Waiting for the exhaustive anthology of the Hillary Clinton emails? It's still going to be another month. A lawsuit by Judicial Watch may bring about the release of an additional 14,900 emails not included in any of the previous releases. Clinton has said previously that the only emails that were withheld or deleted were personal in nature, but government lawyers say there are up to 30 emails about the 2012 Benghazi attacks  among them, but it could be late September before the FBI is able to redact classified information and release them to the public.

Note to candidates: The FBI is not a plaything

At this point, the FBI should just clear its calendar through Nov. 8. House Democratic leaders are asking the bureau to investigate whether Donald Trump worked with Russian hackers in cyberattacks against the Democratic National Committee. Shortly before the Democratic National Convention, Wikileaks released emails  that showed some party officials openly favoring Clinton and suggesting lines of attack against Bernie Sanders in the primary elections. Ranking members are asking FBI Director James Comey to "assess whether connections between Trump campaign officials and Russian interests may have contributed to these attacks."

Shortly after the hack, Trump sarcastically called for Russia to look for unreleased Clinton emails. "Russia, if you're listening, I hope you're able to find the 30,000 emails that are missing," Trump told reporters at a news conference July 27. "I think you will probably be rewarded mightily by our press." Between that, Russian President  Vladimir Putin's praise of Trump and Trump's suggestion that Russia might get to keep Crimea, Democrats are saying "ha ha, wait, what if he's not joking" -- or at least they're thinking they can put Trump on the defensive for a bit. For what it's worth, the FBI is already investigating if the hack has any ties to Russia in the first place.
