Jarryd Roughead to undergo 12 months of immunotherapy to treat melanoma
Hawthorn star Jarryd Roughead says he wants to play AFL again and has no intention of retiring as he prepares for 12 months of treatment following a return of melanoma.

Flanked by club doctor Michael Makdissi and Hawks' general manager of football Chris Fagan, an upbeat Roughead spoke to the media on Tuesday after meeting with his specialist to develop a plan to treat his cancer following a biopsy.

Dr Makdissi said scans revealed there were four small spots on his lung, and a biopsy on one spot confirmed melanoma.

Roughead will begin the immunotherapy treatment next week beginning with four doses three weeks apart.
