Good morning. Here's what's happening now:

  • An Australian man detained in Lebanon after a botched child recovery operation has accused Channel Nine of abandoning him and using him as a scapegoat. Adam Whittington was part of the recovery team that was arrested in Beirut alongside a 60 Minutes crew and the children's mother Sally Faulkner

  • Human rights groups say at least 700 asylum seekers may have died at sea off Italy last week. According to Medecins San Frontieres and the UN Refugee agency, last week was the busiest week of asylum seeker crossings from Libya towards Italy this year, with about 14,000 people rescued

  • A farcical pit lane mix-up has cost Australian Daniel Ricciardo a win at the Monaco Grand Prix. Ricciardo started the race in pole position, but the pit lane error cost the Red Bull driver seven seconds, relegating him to second place behind Lewis Hamilton

NASA has successfully added an inflatable room to the International Space Station. The three-day operation produced the world's first pump-up compartment for astronauts. The expansion is part of NASA's efforts to test expandable habitats astronauts might use on the Moon or Mars in the coming decades.
