Spotlight wins best picture as Mad Max scoops six Oscars

As it happened: Leo gets his Oscar on a big night for Australian film
Blockbuster Mad Max: Fury Road has scooped the technical awards and made Australian cinematic history as Leonardo DiCaprio finally earned the first Oscar of his career.

DiCaprio won best actor for his lead role in The Revenant, which also gave Alejandro Inarritu back to back wins for best director.

Cate Blanchett missed out on best actress to Brie Larson.
